I am very excited to be teaching at Enka Middle School this year!  Go Jets!  Previously, I taught at Enka Middle as a student from UNC Asheville, and I am glad I had the opportunity to return to our wonderful school and community in 2014. At UNC Asheville, I studied history, teaching, and literature, and I became certified to teach social studies in middle grades and high school and middle grades language arts.

I love learning more about history, reading good books, drinking tasty coffee, and travelling to new places. I am a terrible dancer and a great cook.  I am a big fan of baby animals, classic movies, and crafting. One of my favorite experiences is watching the mountains light up each morning on my way to Enka Middle and the feeling of humility and gratitude that gives me.  I also have a deep respect for those that do their best and persevere in the face of difficult circumstances.

I am so grateful to have such a wonderful team of staff members, students, and parents to work with at Enka Middle School!

Looking Forward to a Wonderful Year,
Ms. James
