Welcome to my Classroom

I have been teaching for 25 years, in those years I have taught Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, PE and Science. My passion is Science and History. I received my Bachelor's degree from Western Washington University in Political Science, and my teaching credentials from Old Dominion University. I played two years of college football until injuries side-lined me. I have coached football for 16 years, starting at the middle school level and worked my way to high school, eventually becoming a head coach. Other sports that I enjoy coaching are wrestling, tennis, basketball, volleyball, golf (my biggest challenge), baseball and in 2015 helped coach soccer!
As of 2019 I have stepped down from all my coaching duties, that quote from the movie The Green Mile comes to mind: "Boss, I'm Tired" Now in this difficult time I can give all my time and energy to science education.
I am blessed with a great marriage, and have two great kids, one graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from NCSU , and the other is a practicing herbalist who also runs her own medicinal medicine farm in Madison County. I have two grandsons who keep me very busy and on my toes!
I feel very blessed to be at Enka Middle School, and look forward to a great many years!
God bless
